My pug puppy Sassy is so adorable. I've had her for almost three years now. When we first got her, she was tiny. See, she was the runt of her litter - I could cradle her in both of my hands. We called her Littlebit for a while because we couldn't think of anything else, and it fit well. We'd watch her do crazy puppy things and someone would say, "She's just a little bit ____" (crazy, silly, hungry, etc). She'd also bark at anything and everything, so when it was time to get her microchipped and the nurse asked what her name was, Mom told her it was Sassy. I wanted to call her Stellaluna (after the book about the fruit bat) because she looked like her when her ears were perked up. And, we had this recurring theme about pug names that we would name our dogs after animals in literature (Petula is from the Molly Moon series, Bucky and Satchel are both from the comic strip
Get Fuzzy)
so the name Stellaluna would work splendidly. But no, Sassy is as Sassy does. Now, the once-itty-bitty pug is now pretty big and fat, as all our dogs are.
Love from your faithful blogger and friend (girlfriend for when David reads this),
Meridith
