The Super Bowl - What's the Big Deal?

For any of you who aren't from the United States, you might not understand just how greatly obsessed Americans are with football. And by football, I mean the sport with helmets and quarterbacks and a 100-yard field, not soccer. To be honest, I don't understand it either, and I've lived here my entire life!

So today is a big day for football fans - it's the Super Bowl! All over America in just four hours, the majority of our citizens will gather around their televisions armed with paper plates of nachos, pizza, chicken wings, and (at least for people over the age of 21) red plastic cups of cheap beer, all to watch twenty-something men collide with each other over an oblong brown ball. Yeah, I don't get it either. I have to admit, though, the commercials during the Super Bowl are often hilarious and fun to watch. And my family, though not major football fans, always chooses a team to cheer for (this year, we're going for the Giants).

Anyway, have a great Sunday, and for all you football fans out there, happy Super Bowl!

Love from your faithful blogger and (David's girl)friend,
Meridith

P.S. Patriots are going DOWN.
