My Crazy Oddball Family

I love my family. But let's face it; we all have funny/crazy experiences with our families. That just seems to happen in my family way more often than it does in other families.

So firstly tonight, my mom knocked a soda bottle off a shelf in our garage. Don't even ask me what it was doing there in the first place. Anyway, the soda bottle (completely full of Sprite) punctured, and 90% of its contents sprayed in a fine mist on the car, the majority of the floor, the ceiling, and the shelf it had previously been on. Dad and I happened to be in the kitchen, which leads out into the garage via a door. We wouldn't have known that the incident with the bottle had happened if we hadn't heard a hiss, as well as my mom's shrieking. It was quite. Hilarious. Except not to my dad, who has to clean it up if he hasn't already taken care of it.

Next, at dinner, everyone somehow heard me say "I'm a diet squirrel," when in reality I said "I'm a daddy's girl." The reason for this is because I had a mouthful of bread when my mom accused me of sucking up to my dad, and I had to act quickly or else my moment to make a comeback would be gone. Everyone laughed, including me, which was quite unfortunate since I was still attempting to swallow the bread...I pretty much choked, which made the rest of my family laugh harder, which made ME laugh harder, resulting in more choking. It hurt, let me tell you; I've choked before, but only on water, which isn't really that fun either. And then my dad said "So we've gone from giant squirrel to diet squirrel, have we?" And now we have a little bit of a back story, dear readers. When my family and I went to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's historical estate, on a family trip, I was walking (really kind of stomping) around because I was bored. My parents trailed behind, and they asked me why I was walking the way I was. I replied, "Because I'm training to be a giant - SQUIRREL!" (I had just seen a squirrel, and I was very good at being distracted easily.)

Hope y'all had a great Thursday and here's hoping that your weekend will be great! I know mine will be because I get to see my boyfriend :)

Love from your faithful blogger and (David's girl)friend,
Meridith
